Vision and Direction
Our objectives for the event are to provide students with an
opportunity to perform their talents, to encourage song writing and creativity
and to bring together music lovers, especially among teenagers. These objectives
are in line with our Vision to create a
platform for students to showcase their talents without fear of inadequacy on
their part. Through the event, we also hope to bring together young budding
talents, so that they will be able to form their own community of songwriters
and share experiences, at the same time providing support for one another.
The main directions are that the event will be open only for students and the language medium is Chinese; minimal
commercialisation of the nature of the event and finally, to allow the students to compete in a fair and just environment. These directions
will serve as the major guideline for future committees and further development of the event. The reason for these guidelines is to serve the
niche of student songwriters who might not have the level of professionalism to compete with established songwriters outside and to maintain the
event as a non-profit activity where values will not be compromised for profit.
