About Us

To express feelings through song writing is one of the most exciting things one can do during his or her student's life. This is the main reason why Xin Qing RongJi, or XQRJ, started to organize this activity back in 1998. After understanding that there isn't much channel for students in Singapore and Malaysia to record their emotions and meaningful events in the form of song writing, the committee decided to encourage the students to have this opportunity to showcase their talent.

By only allowing current school students to take part in this competition, it enables the students to freely express their creativity in the area of song writing without the pressure of competing with experienced commercial lyricists and composers. All students from secondary schools, polytechnics, junior colleges, tertiary institutions and music schools are welcomed!

While encouraging students to take part in this competition, we are also trying to maintain the high standard of this competition. Having one of the most well-known publishing houses in Singapore, the Touch Music, as our official publishing house, they will be sending their professional judges and musicians to assist us in deciding the top 10 finalists during the Preliminary rounds and the top 3 during the Grand Final.
